born...

Four and a half years ago was the beginning of birth. My first son was born. I had a date, a focus, a goal, a fear , an excitement and then i met him. 19  months later I met his little sister and just 7 months ago his baby brother. So now there are 3 new days in our lives, 3 days of births, 3 days to celebrate 3 fantastic little people.

In my eyes each birthday is a chance to make my kids feel loved to bits that one day when its about them.
I grew up in a house where your birthday always meant a party, inviting, planning ,games, food. It was tradition handed down by my grandparents who always organised  treasure hunts for my mum's birthday. I have a vivid memory of a 'party' book my mum had, a book I would pour over creating in my mind, my party. So now I have my little ones I get to really create. I 'do' parties. I pick a theme and make make make.I try to be as creative and unique as i can be, steering clear of commercialised themes.  Its sooo nice as a mum to be able to have a creative outlet that doesn't involve painting everything but the page in front of you, whilst sticking googley eyes and pom poms to everything and everyone...
